Entrant Guidelines

The Showcase is open to writers between the ages of 13 and 18 now living or having lived within the six-county area: Monroe, Livingston, Wayne, Orleans, Ontario and Genesee.

Plays for consideration must be submitted (postmarked or hand-delivered) to Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd, Rochester, NY 14607 by March 2, 2020. Manuscripts should be marked for the attention of Jean Ryon, Young Writers Showcase; or sent electronically to [email protected].

Please include clear contact information on the title page: name, address, phone number and email.

Scripts should be no longer than ten (10) pages and contain no more than eight (8) characters.
Entrants must submit the play in its entirety.
Writers may submit up to three plays for consideration.

Each submitted play should have only one author. Unfortunately, group projects cannot be considered for the Showcase.

There are no rules regarding content or format.

Selected authors will be notified in April.

Winning authors must be available to attend rehearsal of their piece on the performance day, Saturday, May 16, 2020.
