ART | "Making Magic"

The Strong Museum dives deeper into the magical realm, showcasing more than 1,500 donated items contributing to the "Making Magic: The Fantastic Worlds of Blizzard Entertainment" display. The display features donations from the personal collection of Paul Sams, former longtime chief operating officer of Blizzards Entertainment Inc., a video game developer and publisher. The display includes merchandise gathered from 1992 until 2015. Of the donations, were popular video game franchises such as the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo series.

In addition to video games, the collection includes figures, toys, graphic novels, strategy guides, trading cards, key chains, merchandise from Comic-Con, and even drinking steins. Sams stated he felt the museum was the best place to preserve the games and to be appreciated by all gamers, making them apart of the gaming history as well. The display will open October 1 and will last until January 3. For more information, visit museumofplay.org/exhibits/making-magic.
