ART | "Square 2017"

"Square 2017," the new exhibit at Gallery 96, features fine art photography in a square format from more than 25 juried artists. The exhibit includes Marshall Handfield, who received Best in Show for his piece, "Luminous Lunch," at the 2016 Wayne County Council exhibit and contest "Art Thru the Lens." His work is unmistakable and each image has a similar aesthetic: a central, bold-hued, sketch-like subject on a hazy, darkened background. Almost 100 images were submitted, reviewed by Gallery 96 Artist-in-Residency Tom Kredo, Boardwalk Design Owner Paul Zachman, and photographer George Wallace.

The show continues through Saturday, July 8. Gallery 96 (604 Pittsford Victor Road) is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by appointment on weekends and evenings. For more information, call 248-8128 or visit
