ART | "Tiger Show"

Rochester-based artist Rina Miriam Drescher's drawings, paintings, and prints embody a harmonious combination of sweetness and ferocity. She doesn't limit herself to one genre, shifting with ease from abstracts to portraiture and animal or still life studies, laying down bright and unexpected hues in skillfully sketchy brushstrokes or dusky flicks of the charcoal stick.

Drescher's "Tiger Show" is an exhibition of paintings, drawings, linocut prints, and zines on view at Hedonist Artisan Ice Cream (672 South Avenue) throughout the month of June. An artist reception will take place on Thursday, June 15, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (when you can score a zine for free or a lino print for $20). Hedonist's hours are Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Preview Drescher's work at; for more info, call 461-2815.
