ART | 'Wintercraft'

Flower City Arts Center’s annual open house event, “Wintercraft,” features multiple shows and sales of handmade artwork, demonstrations by photo, letterpress, ceramic, and book-arts artists, and opportunities for hands-on craft making such as a holiday card or a gingerbread ornament. And Mr. Loops will provide musical entertainment.

The Printing and Book Arts space will have a show and sale of letterpress goods including calendars, posters, and holiday cards. The new Photo Shop will feature photographic works for purchase, and a range of studio artists will have work for sale through the Arts Center. In the Firehouse Gallery is “Good Things…come in small packages,” a juried exhibit and sale of small ceramic works. “Mudbooks,” a collaborative exhibit of works by ceramic and bookmaking studio artists will be on view in the Joe Brown Gallery. And the “Family Photographs” exhibition is on display in the upstairs Photography Gallery.

“Wintercraft” takes place on Saturday, December 1, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Flower City Arts Center, 713 Monroe Avenue. Admission is free. 244-1730; rochesterarts.org.
