Bennett retiring from the RMSC

Kate Bennett, who has been president and CEO of the Rochester Museum and Science Center for the past 21 years, is retiring, the museum announced today.

Bennett didn't set a retirement date but plans to stay "for an unspecified amout of time to ensure a smooth transition" to the next president, RMSC says.

During her time there, the museum greatly expanded and enhanced its exhibitions and programs and strengthened its STEM focus. Among the highlights was an extensive museum-community collaboration, "RACE: Are We So Different."

The RMSC board of trustees has formed a search committee to find Bennett's successor.
