The Genesee River Basin and the Lake Ontario near-shore waters face numerous related water quality issues: excess algal growth makes streams and shorelines unpleasant and unhealthy, fisheries are stressed by poor water quality, and drinking water is threatened. George Thomas, will describe how CEI, through its Genesee RiverWatch initiative, plans to address these issues in collaboration with key regional stakeholders and the general public.
