CLASSICAL | fivebyfive

The chamber ensemble fivebyfive has quickly become a go-to source for contemporary classical concert music in Rochester. Clarinetist Marcy D. Bacon, flutist Laura Lentz, pianist Haeyeun Jeun, bassist Eric J. Polenik, and guitarist Sungmin Shin do not shy away from the unfamiliar. This program will feature several compositions likely to have gone previously unheard by the audience, including works by Ólafur Arnalds, Jascha Narveson, and Julia Seeholzer. Entitled "Nice Boots," day-of-concert admission will be $10 for attendees wearing boots, and $12 for those not wearing boots, with 10 percent of ticket sales going to Dress for Success, an organization dedicated to helping women find sustainable employment. Poet Kitty Jospé and The Op-Shop Vintage Store will also take part in the event.

Fivebyfive will perform Sunday, April 15, at The Clover Center for Arts & Spirituality, 1101 Clover Street. $10-$12; $20 family max. 4 p.m. 319-9807;;
