COMEDY | 'The Roast of Grandma ReRe'

After years of being addicted to crack cocaine, and now more than a decade of sobriety, comedian Renetta Thomas is talking about her addiction in a unique way: as Grandma ReRe, a straight-forward elderly lady who is focused on raising awareness about drug addiction and the impact it has on families and children in Rochester. Thomas will host a comedy roast, featuring six local comedians, to raise awareness for drug addiction and mental illness and to benefit the Sojourner Home, the institution that helped her become drug-free. Some of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit evening programs at the Sojourner Home.

"The Roast of Grandma ReRe" will take place Saturday, August 4, at Boulder Coffee, 100 Alexander Street. 6 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available on eventbrite.com (search "Roast of Grandma ReRe"). grandmarere.com.
