Cost of war - 2.15.06 

The totals:

2264 US soldiers, 204 Coalition soldiers, and approximately 28,403 to 32,013 Iraqi civilians have been killed in Iraq from the beginning of the war and occupation to February 9.

2814 Iraqi police and guardsmen have been killed since January 2005, according to an estimate compiled from news reports.

16,653 US military have been wounded in action since March 2003, according to Department of Defense reports.

American soldiers killed between February 5 and 9:

Corporal Brandon S. Schuck, 21; Safford, Arizona | Private First Class Jacob D. Spann, 21; Columbus, Ohio | Lance Corporal Steven L. Phillips, 27; Chesapeake, Virginia | Specialist Patrick W. Herried, 29; Sioux Falls, South Dakota | Specialist Allen D. Kokesh Jr., 21; Yankton, South Dakota | Private First Class Javier Chavez Jr., 19; Cutler, California | Corporal Ross A. Smith, 21; Wyoming, Michigan.
