This is a past event.

The setting for this reenactment is April, 1869. Rev. Jermain Wesley Loguen has decided to host a book signing/fundraiser for his friend and fellow Abolitionist Harriet Tubman. Harriet has experienced financial issues in the last few years and is in need. The book signing takes place at City Hall in Syracuse, N.Y. Rev. Loguen was affectionately known as the“King of the Underground Railroad” because of his bold efforts (with his wife Caroline) in aiding 1,500 freedom seekers before the Civil War. Loguen advertised his home in Syracuse as a“depot” on the Underground Railroad with cards and in the press.
