Daily Choices: What to do on Tuesday, June 4

Auditions: Think you've got the chops to think (and react) on your feet and entertain the masses? Village Idiots Improv Comedy (274 N. Goodman St.) will hold Improv Comedy Open Auditions tonight, 7 p.m. The event is free to attend. For more information, call 797-9086 or visit

Music: Dan Weber is relatively new to songwriting, but you wouldn’t know it from his music. Weber has lived a very full life — and, therefore, has many stories to tell. That storytelling aspect is the basis for his music, brought to life through his lively country roots. Weber cites legendary country and folk musicians such as Johnny Cash, Harry Chapin, and Jim Croce as his childhood influences. That level of insight accounts for both Weber’s down-home, traditional approach toward making music and his love for narrative-driven lyrics. Weber has a knack for writing simple, straight-forward songs that will leave the listener with both a stirring sense of adventure and the deep sense of nostalgia that comes with returning home again. Dan Weber performs tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Abilene Bar & Lounge, 153 Liberty Pole Way. $XX.

Workshop: Take part in the freeYogaFit Class with Eva Pazral, held each Tuesday through June 10 at 5:30 p.m., at RCTV Studios (21 Gorham St.). For more info and to register, call 325-1238 or visit

Recreation: Head over to the George Eastman House (900 East Ave.) for the Historic Landscape Garden Tour, which takes place Tuesdays (and Sundays) at 3:30 p.m. through August 31. The tour is included in museum admission ($5-$12). For more info, call 271-3361 or visit
