Harley will host a special public viewing of the film, July '64, which documents the Rochester Race Riots. The event, “July 1964 Revisited: An intergenerational community conversation about then and now," is highlighted by a conversation with filmmakers Carvin Eison and Christine Christopher, together with Darryl Porter (who is featured in the film). 2014 marks 50 years since the Rochester Race Riots. The film has been a core of the Upper School Rights & Responsibilities curriculum this year, and Harley ninth graders have seen and discussed it, as well as visited some of the prominent local sites where the riots took place.
