Politicians are in a "class" all by themselves, but in that effort most are "classless". Their closets are full of skeletons and the "game" appears to be if, and how long, you can keep those in the closet and from the other politician. It isn't a Democrat thing, nor republican. It is, however, an individual thing. Throwing stones within the confines of a glass house will sooner or later break glass. Then the "broken window theory" sets in and there is broken glass all over the place. It does keep the lawyer in business though.
I think they got it right. Taking advantage of the waterfront (River and or Lake Ontario) has not been a priority. It is a pity that no one has stepped up with a plan to exercise some creativity, some out-of-the-box thinking to make better use of the river.
Parking has never been a real concern, the "why am I Down Town" is. High Falls comes to mind. The opportunities are there and they are a plenty. Currently it looks like a ghost town. What could we do?
I'll share one with you. You have the Port of Charlotte and then the river that leads (upstream) to HIgh Falls/Down Town. Did a study on a cable car/tram, whatever you want to call it, to and from. The river is a geological treasure. It is one of the few rivers that flow north. Think about the connection,...the Port of Rochester with down town via a cable. Think of the educational opportunities for kids, think of the visitor (by boat) opportunity for connecting with down town. There are plenty of positive aspects to down town for visitors. Currently (for boaters) there are two things to do in Charlotte, ride the merry go round and buy and ice cream cone. If you want to go down town, you take lake Avenue. Now there is a well come to Rochester. (not)
The winter the snow and ice on the river, the spring can be a wild flower spectacle, holidays festive, Christmas with a river light display that will attract from far and wide. An attraction that would have Rochester and the surrounding counties come to experience a fantastic tour of the river. Wouldn't you rather see a sea of yellow busses at the Port of Charlotte?! I would.
I can pay for itself, be self supporting. I know, CAN'T be done. It's that attitude that stymies creativity. I've done the math and the research. That doesn't make me an expert, but it may be worth a looksee.
Politics have become so incredibly divisive, so froth with hate, so destructive and have gone well beyond common sense. That goes for all party affiliations. One is just as bad as the other. Most of it is all about "me", "I", what can I get out of the deal, what can make the other guy/gal look like a fool, ....and on and on.
Don't tell me that's the way the political ball bounces. "It" (politics) doesn't dictate, interpret, act, etc., the people who wallow in this mud bath and on occasion blood bath are the responsible for it and perpetuate it.
You wonder why political life is for the few? I guess to a degree I'm happy with that.
He should do what his heart tells him to do. It's HIS choice. And I could give a dam less about party affiliation. The man has earned the opportunity to accept or reject it. Good for him and CONGRATUALATIONS!
At this point I may recommend that the picture be removed from the article. Lets not give this numbskull any more notoriety than he has already soaked up. I truly hate this kind of cowardly "art work". Get a real job.
I don't believe there is much to analyze here. This has nothing to do with immigration, nor the current administration, not the president, etc. It is simply a case of a punk with a paint can thinking he is an intellectual. I believe this to be an isolated incident. Unfortunately it made the news. It should have been wiped clean upon first sight.
Thanks for the opportunity to express ourselves on this very important consideration by publishing the contact information.
