New research has painted a fuller picture of the life of Emily Sibley Watson (1855-1945). She is best known as the founder of MAG and Hochstein School. However, her philanthropic outreach extended more broadly than previously known. Mrs. Watson's large inheritance allowed her to support institutions and individuals, establishing her as one of the first local women to chart the course of her own independent fortune.

Retired librarian Lu Harper and MAG chief Curator, Marjorie Searl present this installment of Mourning in the Morning. Registration required. Details here.
