Re: “School 41 to close and a new school to open in its place

Crossing my fingers it turns in to the military school that was discussed last year. I know Van White reads City and posts comments sometimes, so crossing my fingers he sees this and can add some info to the story.

Re: “Republicans' housing shakedown

"The study warns that if the Republican tax plan passes in its current form housing prices would fall about 10 percent nationwide. "

This sounds like it'd be a WIN for the "we need affordable housing" crowd?!?

Re: “Feedback 11/22

1) "After essentials like coffee, creamer, spices, and condiments..."

Nothing listed there is an essential.

2) "A single able-bodied adult with no dependents spends more than that looking for work."

How does one spend their SNAP benefits looking for work?!?

Re: “Feedback 11/22

"The piddling amount is less than $150 a month for food for a single, able-bodied person without dependents."

I'd love to spend $150 a month for food! People who think that amount is "piddling" obviously have no idea how to grocery shop. As is now, my grocery bill is less than $100/mth. I'm just going to drop a few pointers. 20lb bag of rice, $12. Can't tell you how long that lasts, cause it seems like forever. Definitely stretches better than, and has more uses than, pasta. Eggs, usually less than $1/dozen. Store brand cereal, $2. You can get at least 6 man sized servings out of that. The milk to go on there? $2/gallon. Oatmeal, another cheap breakfast staple. Chicken is like 1/3 the price of the cheapest steak, and healthier. Snack foods? Bananas usually less than 50cents/lb. Baby carrots 99cents/lb. Much better than $4+/lb for chips. Frozen veggies 99cents/lb, Beans, cans are as cheap as 50cents, same deal with canned tomatoes. I mean, this list really goes on and on.

Re: “Project Censored, 2016-17

#4. Voter suppression - lol @ that. Looks like the % of black people to vote dipped back to what it was in 2004. Hmmm, wonder what caused the spike in '08 and '12? /sarcasm. 2020 will confirm my theory.…

Re: “Police training program challenged

Whatever you need to tell yourself Mark. lol. Ended up exactly as I said deescalation training would. A busted up cop (and a dead suspect). Suspect was shot in the back btw. Aren't you hippie types against people being shot from behind?

Hey Mark, I see the City staff deleted my last comment to you, so here's a new one, enjoy!…

Guess that deescalation training didn't work too well huh?
