Empowered Aging: Yoga for Pelvic Health: Wednesday, January 9 at 2:00 PM in the library’s Community Room. This 60-minute gentle yoga class taught by Genevra Petito of Supergirl Fitness will instruct students through postures and breathing techniques that she's found successful with her students, to strengthen the muscles of the legs and pelvic floor region. While the focus will be yoga to prevent incontinence the benefits of the class also include strength, flexibility and balance improvement, reduction in anxiety and stress too. Please bring a yoga mat or something to lay on. Also, a towel or small pillow if neck support is necessary in reclined postures. “Tuesday Travelogue: Hawaii: The Islands of Kauai, Maui, and Lanai,” Tuesday, January 22 at 1:00 PM in the library’s Community Room. This month we will travel to the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Maui with side trips to Oahu and Lanai. Highlights on Kauai were the renowned Kalauau trail, Waimea Canyon, wildlife refuges, sacred sites, and snorkeling. On Maui we viewed the sunrise from the top of Haleakala and hiked the Silversword trail in the crater. The famed Road to Hana leads to waterfalls, beaches, tropical rainforests, and the largest Heiau (temple) in the Hawaiian Islands. Presented by Ken Harbison. No registration.
