FILM | 'The Wrath of Khan' Screening with William Shatner

Before his celebrated music career, lengthy output as a writer, and star turns in "T.J. Hooker" and "Boston Legal" — and who could forget "$h*! My Dad Says" and the Priceline Negotiator — William Shatner had a small role on a humble 1960's science fiction TV show called "Star Trek." We're not sure if you've heard of Shatner's Captain James T. Kirk and his crew on the USS Enterprise, exploring space "to boldly go where no man has gone before" (that's a line from the show). After three seasons on TV, Shatner and his cast mates returned to their roles about a decade later for a series of "Star Trek" movies, including 1982's "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," which a lot of people called "Trekkies" keep saying is the best of the franchise's movies and a sci-fi genre classic. Anyway, William Shatner will be in Rochester (unfortunately not singing) for a screening of "The Wrath of Khan" and a talk and Q&A following the movie.

The screening takes place Thursday, April 5, at the Kodak Center, 200 West Ridge Road. 7:30 p.m. $35-$75. 254-0181; facebook.com/kodakcenter; ticketmaster.com.
