The Finger Lakes Land Trust is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a region-wide series of special events that will start with a benefit concert in Ithaca on Friday, June 13th and will be followed by a series of guided field trips in each of the 12 Finger Lakes counties on Saturday, June 21st. Since it was established in 1989, the non-profit Land Trust has worked with landowners and local communities to protect more than 16,000 acres of the region’s undeveloped shoreline, rugged gorges, majestic forest, and scenic farmland. The anniversary celebration will commence this Friday evening at 7:30 pm, when Grammy Award winning, singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams will play a benefit concert for the Land Trust at Cornell University’s Bailey Hall. Through a partnership with promoter Dan Smalls Presents, a portion of the concert’s proceeds will be donated to the Land Trust.
