FOLK | Christopher Paul Stelling

He's got the hands of Chet Atkins as he fingerstyles his way beneath songs full of lonesome John Prine hope. Christopher Paul Stelling is an artist that Rolling Stone says you ought to know and I concur. He sings like tears; his guitar a battered, one-man orchestra full of the feeling you get when caught somewhere between joy and melancholy.

Christopher Paul Stelling plays Monday, April 9, at the JCC's Centerstage Theatre, 1200 Edgewood Drive. 8 p.m. $20-$25. jccrochester.org; christopherpaulstelling.com.
