FOLK | John McCutcheon

When Pete Seeger praises your musicianship, you're probably on the right track. And in return, multi-instrumentalist John McCutcheon has carried Seeger's torch as a folksinger, storyteller, and social justice activist. A master on the hammered dulcimer, guitar, banjo, fiddle, and nearly anything else with strings, McCutcheon carries on a folk tradition of being versatile — he knows how to inform an audience through heart-aching ballads, humor, and just beautiful music. McCutcheon released his 39th album, "Ghost Light," just a few weeks ago. This is a Golden Link Folk Singing Society concert.

John McCutcheon plays Saturday, February 17, at Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Avenue, Penfield. 7:30 p.m. $25-$27 general; $20-$22 members; $10 students. goldenlink.org; folkmusic.com.
