FOLK | Martin Sexton

Martin Sexton is for real. Born in Syracuse, the soulful singer-songwriter got his start underground playing in the Subway and on the streets of Boston. Sexton is known for his sturdy songs, but it is his voice that rivets and touches the soul. Joan Osborne will make the night with selections from her new Bob Dylan tribute album, "Songs of Bob Dylan."

Martin Sexton and Joan Osborne perform Friday, April 13, at Funk 'N Waffles, 204 North Water Street. 7 p.m. $45. rochester.funknwaffles.com; martinsexton.com; joanosborne.com.
