FOLK | Old-Time Fiddlers' Fair

The fiddlers will not be on the roofs this weekend at Genesee Country Village and Museum, but they will be everywhere else on the grounds, joined by other musicians playing dulcimers, harps, guitars, and other stringed instruments. The GCVM's traditional Old-Time Fiddlers' Fair takes place all day Saturday and Sunday this weekend. You can hear such performers as Mitzie Collins, Emma and Carl Eddy, Fiddlers of the Genesee, the Rochester Irish Musicians' Association, and others performing on four stages, including a stage in one of the museum's 19th century churches. A series of free musicians' workshops will also be offered each day.

The Old-Time Fiddlers' Fair takes place Saturday, August 20, and Sunday, August 21, at Genesee Country Village & Museum, 1410 Flint Hill Road, Mumford. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Free with museum admission: $20 adults; $17 seniors and students; $12 ages 4-16; free for those under 3. 294-8218, gcv.org.
