Dr. David Anderson, founding member of Blackstorytelling League and history reenactor, introduces Frederick Douglass. The setting is Rochester’s train station in 1860 and Douglass is returning from England where he fled after abolitionist John Brown seized the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia. Dr. Anderson presents Douglass as candid, acknowledging the impact of an impending war on the nation, and referring to personal loss.
