This is our first Fresh Cut in the video realm, and what better way to get things rolling than with a new release by electronica-indie pop duo The Able Bodies. For these two cats, this is a grand pop cut full of epic atmosphere and joy. It's got classic electronic components swimming around, which gives it something you might call retro-electronica. And in keeping with the retro theme, the video features the band imposed on a background of stars that gives it an Atari look and feel.

While this is a fresh and vibrant cut, to truly look at where the band is going you need to acknowledge where it's been and where it comes from. The duo's two members, John Viviani and Eli Flynn, both have a storied history that colors where they are going as The Able Bodies. When you deconstruct "Ordinary Life" in all its sugar pop bliss, you wind up back where it all began — in particular, at Viviani's project prior to this one, the electrified, organic, guitar-driven Blue Falcon. If you consider that before spinning "Ordinary Life," the new stuff comes on with a new found, even bigger dimension. If you don't, no matter, these Able Bodies are still able to rock yours. Big fun.
