Sit, Knit & Stitch: Thursday, February 7, 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Bring your own project and enjoy the company of others who enjoy needlecraft like knitting, stitching and crocheting. Beginners to experts are welcome. Bring a snack and beverage if you wish. No registration.

Lego Club: Thursday February 7, 6:30 – 7:30PM. Ages 5 through 12. Come build with our Legos. Registration is required.

Preschool Dance Party: Friday, February 8, 10:00 to 10:30 AM. For ages 1-5 with a caregiver. No registration.

Learn to Crochet: Saturday, February 9, 10:30 – 11:30 AM. This month's project is to learn one of three patterns for a scarf (please bring your own skein of yarn for this) or make another dishcloth. If you need help with something you've already started feel free to bring it with you. 18 and up. Registration is required.

Valentine’s Day Card Stamping: Saturday, February 9, 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Homemade Valentine cards are fun to create and make perfect keepsakes and gifts. All materials are provided. Registration is required. Age 18 and up, please.

Junior Friends: Tuesday, February 12, 4:00 – 5:00PM. The Junior Friends are library volunteers ages 9 - 16 who meet year-round and help the library with book sales, programs, and decorations, among other fun things. We also get involved with community service activities.

Pajama Story Time: Thursday, February 14, 6:30 – 7:15 PM. Stories, songs, activities and a craft will be included. A family program for all ages and pajama wear is optional! No registration.

Holiday Closing: Library will be closed on Monday, February 18 in observance of President’s Day. We will reopen at 9AM on Tuesday, February 19.

Meet a Police Dog: Thursday, February 21, 6:30 – 7:30 P.M. Gates Police Officer Matt Miller and K9 Officer Sonny will be at the library tonight! We will have a short story time, followed by a presentation by Officers Miller and Sonny about what a police dog does. Bring the whole family! Registration Required.

First Aid for Teens with EPIC Trainings: Friday, February 22, 1:00 – 3:00 PM. This course teaches 7-12-year-old participants the skills and techniques necessary to respond to a variety of first aid emergencies and some common medical emergencies. Space is limited. Writing to Heal: What’s the Story?: Saturday, February 23, 1:00 – 3:00 PM. Are you dealing with life-changing issues? You are welcome in this class whether you already write or not. You’ll learn writing exercises and skills you can use for the rest of your life to know yourself better and help restore physical and emotional health. Learn about decades of amazing research on how telling your story a certain way produces positive changes in your body, restores emotional well-being, and clears the mind. Find what story you have to tell and how to tell it. This is the second of three workshops. Attend them all or choose which ones sound right for you. Seating is limited and registration is required. Baby Sing, Sign, and Play: Wednesday, February 27, 10:15 – 10:45 AM. For ages 6 – 24 months with a caregiver. We use music, books and other playful activities to help tots and adults learn simple ASL signs for pre-verbal communication. No registration.

How to Deal with a Lifetime of Sentimental Clutter: Wednesday, February 27, 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Diane Zielinski will present ideas on how to determine what sentimental items are worth keeping, what items you can let go, and how to do it. The adult program focus will be on family memorabilia, letters, and photos. Registration is required.

Read With a Furry Friend!: Thursday, February 28, 6:00 – 7:00 PM. Stop in and read a book with Kat the therapy dog! She and Ms. Joanna will be in the children's area and ready to be read to. No registration, all ages.
