FOOD FOR FINES: Friday, November 16th through Saturday, December 15th, Gates Public Library will forgive $1 in fines for every item received, up to $5. Items accepted include non-perishable food, unopened & unexpired toiletries, soaps, & paper products, gently used or new clothing & household linens. Sorry, charges for lost items and collection services cannot be forgiven.

Preschool Dance Party: Friday, November 9, 10:00 to 10:30AM. Dance up a storm at our fun Friday party! For ages 1-5 with a caregiver. No registration.

Sicilian Stuffed Breads: Saturday, November 10, 11:00AM – 12:30PM. For all ages. Join us for a demonstration and sampling of Sicilian stuffed breads. There’s room for everyone and all skill levels at this table! Registration is required.

Holiday Closing: The library will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Monday, November 12.

Story Time with Hannah: Tuesday, November 13, 10:15 – 11:00 AM. For ages 2 through 5 with a caregiver. Stories, songs, circle games, snack, fingerplays and toys in this program. No registration.

Junior Friends: Tuesday, November 13, 4:00 – 5:00PM. The Junior Friends are library volunteers ages 9 - 16 who meet year-round and help the library with book sales, programs, and decorations, among other fun things. We also get involved with community service activities.

Teen Craft: Rubber Stamped Thanksgiving Cards: Tuesday, November 13, 6:30 – 7:30PM. For ages 9 - 18. Join Deb Collier and learn to create festive Rubber Stamped Thanksgiving cards to share with family and friends. All materials are provided courtesy of the Friends of Gates Public Library. Registration is required and is limited to 25 people.

Music Makers!: Wednesday, November 14, 10:15 – 10:45AM. For ages birth to 5 years old and their caregivers, Music Makers! will inspire singing, dancing, listening and instrument playing in a variety of learning styles. The children will be encouraged to interact socially as well. Registration required.

Library Board Meeting: Wednesday, November 14, from 6:00 – 7:00PM. Library Board meetings are open to the public.

Bear Party: Thursday, November 15, 6:30-7:30PM. November 16th is "have a party with your bear" day. Join us for stories, crafts, and a snack! Teddy bears are encouraged to come with you! Registration is required.

Story Time Yoga: Friday, November 16, from 10:00 – 10:30 AM. For ages 1 - 5 with a caregiver. Hear stories while stretching and strengthening your body! The stories will inspire children's minds as their bodies are busy supporting them. No registration.

Saturday Baby Story Time: Saturday, November 17, 9:30 – 10:00 AM. For children ages birth through 2 years old, with a caregiver. Stories, songs, fingerplays and play time. No registration.

Baby Story Time: Monday, November 19, 9:30 – 10:00 AM. For children ages birth through 2 years old, with a caregiver. Stories, songs, fingerplays and play time. No registration.

Story Time with Mary Jo: Monday, November 19, 10:15 – 11:00 AM. For ages 2 through 5 with a caregiver. Stories, songs, circle games, snack, fingerplays and toys are all part of this program. No registration.

Creative Writing: Monday, November 19, 6:00 – 8:00PM. This group provides an opportunity for beginning and experienced writers to share their work and receive feedback and suggestions from fellow writers.

College 102: Monday, November 19, 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Learn 10 strategies to help control the cost of college, including merit scholarships, student loans, selectivity, EFC, financial aid and more. Bring all of your college questions. Presented by Brenda Piazza, College Assistance Plus. Please register.

Time For Tots: Wednesday, November 21, 10:15AM. Ages 1 through 5 with a caregiver. Forty minutes of free play with toys, followed by a short story time. No registration.

Holiday Closing: Library will be closing at 5PM on Wednesday, November 21 and will be closed all day on Thursday, November 22 in observance of Thanksgiving. We will reopen at 9AM on Friday, November 23.

American Girls Pajama Party: Saturday, November 24, 11AM – 12PM. Put on your jammies, choose a favorite doll, and join Teresa Wood for Bedtime Through the Ages! Meet the American Girls, all in their pajamas, and resting in their beds for a history houses presentation! No registration.

Baby Story Time: Monday, November 26, 9:30 – 10:00 AM. For children ages birth through 2 years old, with a caregiver. Stories, songs, fingerplays and play time. No registration.

War Movie Matinee: Monday, November 26, 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Join us for a viewing of a classic war film in honor of Veterans and the Centennial remembrance of the end of WWI. Bring friends and make new ones. We'll provide fresh popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, and tea! Please register.

Brush Calligraphy: Monday, November 26, 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Learn the basics of calligraphy using brush markers; how to write a simple alphabet. Personalize gift bags for family and friends, just in time for the holidays! No experience with calligraphy is needed to take this class. Registration required.

#ReadWomen Book Club: Thursday, November 25, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. This book club exclusively reads female authors. This month we are reading Etta and Otto and Russell and James: A Novel by Emma Hooper. Registration is requested.

Fairy Tale Friday: Friday, November 30, from 10:15 – 11:00 AM. For ages 2 through 6 with a caregiver. Join us to hear versions of a favorite fairy tale, sing songs, make a craft, and have a snack. No registration.
