Digital Literacy: Digital Literacy provides a free, one-to-one, drop-in service to individuals who want to learn basic computer skills or complete computer-essential tasks. The program is staffed by volunteer navigators who work at various community sites. Digital Literacy Volunteers teach all skills needed for the basic operation of a computer. Staff Training: Thursday, October 3. Library opens at 11:00 AM on the first Thursday of every month for staff training.
Fall Candle Holder: Saturday, October 2:00 – 3:00 PM.
Make a beautiful centerpiece or decoration with your own handmade candle holder. Deb Coller will be your guide to help you through this craft. All materials will be provided. Please register.

Technology for Seniors: Thursday, October 10. Choose from one of two, one-hour sessions: 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM on the second Thursday of the month.
Each month we tackle a new topic. If you own an electronic device, please bring it with you, otherwise you may borrow one from the library during the class. Registration is required and limited to 1 or 2 people per session. Register online or by calling the library at 247-6446.

Want to add hand-crafted Ukrainian eggs to your Halloween decoration collection? Linda Bowers will help you create two Pysnaky pumpkin eggs in class using this wax resist method that incorporates beeswax and dyes. Space is limited for this event so please register. All materials are provided.

GPL Out on the Town: Saturday, October 19.
GPL Out On the Town takes us to the Charlotte- Genesee Lighthouse - voted one of the “Top 3 landmarks of 2019” in the City of Rochester. Meet us at the site location, 70 Lighthouse Street. Rochester, NY 14612, for a complete guided tour. Check-in time is 12:45 pm. Registered patrons will be granted access to the tour upon check-in with a library staff person at the tour site. Additional youth tickets (ages 5-17) may be purchased at that time. Be sure to bring a camera to document your journey and stop at the gift shop to pick up a keepsake of your visit.

Nutrition for Diabetes + Heart Health: Saturday, October 26, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
This class will teach you how to optimize and stabilize blood sugars to manage diabetes and improve overall heart health. Having optimal blood sugars can improve energy, performance, body composition, hunger and satiety levels, mood while reducing cravings and late-night snacking, improving blood markers and decreasing overall disease risk. First Aid for Kids with EPIC Trainings®: Saturday, October 26, 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
This course teaches 8-14-year-old participants the skills and techniques necessary to respond to a variety of first aid emergencies. Also addressed are common medical emergencies such as: bleeding control, burns, choking, and caring for sprains/strains/breaks and more.
