Digital Literacy: Digital Literacy provides a free, one-to-one, drop-in service to individuals who want to learn basic computer skills or complete computer-essential tasks. The program is staffed by volunteer navigators who work at various community sites. Digital Literacy Volunteers teach all skills needed for the basic operation of a computer. Staff Training: Thursday, October 3. Library opens at 11:00 AM on the first Thursday of every month for staff training.
Fall Candle Holder: Saturday, October 2:00 – 3:00 PM.
Make a beautiful centerpiece or decoration with your own handmade candle holder. Deb Coller will be your guide to help you through this craft. All materials will be provided. Please register.
Lego Club: Thursday October 10, 6:30 – 7:30PM.
Ages 5 through 12. Come build a new universe with our Legos! Please register.
Technology for Seniors: Thursday, October 10. Choose from one of two, one-hour sessions: 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM on the second Thursday of the month.
Each month we tackle a new topic. If you own an electronic device, please bring it with you, otherwise you may borrow one from the library during the class. Registration is required and limited to 1 or 2 people per session. Register online or by calling the library at 247-6446.
Read With a Furry Friend!: Thursday, October 10, 6:00 – 7:00 PM.
Stop in and read a book with Kat the therapy dog! She and Ms. Joanna will be in the children's area and ready to be read to. No registration necessary, all ages.
Preschool Dance Party: Friday, October 11, 10:00 to 10:30 AM.
Dance up a storm at our fun Friday party! For ages 1-5 with a caregiver.  No registration necessary. Walk-ins welcome!
Halloween Treats: Saturday, October 12, 10:00 to 10:30 AM.
Participants AGES 8 - 18 will make come spooky snacks and terrifying treats at this fun program! Miss Liz will show you how. All materials are provided. Please register. PLEASE INFORM US AT LEAST 2 WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY.

For ages 2 through 5 with a caregiver.  Stories, songs, circle games, snack, fingerplays and toys are all part of this program.  No registration necessary. Walk-ins welcome.
Energy Works for Kids: Monday October 14, 1:30 – 2:30 PM.
Children ages 6 to 10 are invited to this workshop presented by Sandra Fischer-Kierecki. Sandra is a Reiki Master interested in nurturing children’s awareness of their own energy and the energy around them. Please register.

Minecraft Club: Thursday, October 17, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.
Get ready to play Minecraft together in our new Minecraft Club! Feel free to bring your own laptop or tablet (some may be provided). All ages. Registration is requested.
Yoga Story Time: Friday, October 18, from 10:00 – 10:30 AM.
For ages 1 - 5 with a caregiver. Hear stories while stretching and strengthening your body! The stories will inspire children's minds as their bodies are busy supporting them. No registration.
Pysnaky Pumpkins: Saturday, October 19, 10:15 AM – 1:15 PM.
Want to add hand-crafted Ukrainian eggs to your Halloween decoration collection? Linda Bowers will help you create two Pysnaky pumpkin eggs in class using this wax resist method that incorporates beeswax and dyes. Space is limited for this event so please register. All materials are provided.

GPL Out on the Town: Saturday, October 19.
GPL Out On the Town takes us to the Charlotte- Genesee Lighthouse - voted one of the “Top 3 landmarks of 2019” in the City of Rochester. Meet us at the site location, 70 Lighthouse Street. Rochester, NY 14612, for a complete guided tour. Check-in time is 12:45 pm. Registered patrons will be granted access to the tour upon check-in with a library staff person at the tour site. Additional youth tickets (ages 5-17) may be purchased at that time. Be sure to bring a camera to document your journey and stop at the gift shop to pick up a keepsake of your visit.

College 102: A Financial Look at the College Journey: Monday October 21, 6:30 – 7:30 PM.
Join us for an educational presentation offering 10 strategies to help control the cost of college.  Topics covered will include merit scholarships, student loans, selectivity, EFC, financial aid and more. Please register and bring all of your college questions.

United Nations Day is October 24th. Help us celebrate with stories, songs, crafts, and activities from around the world. Registration requested. For all ages.
Fairy Tale Friday: Friday, October 25, 10:15 – 11:00 AM.
For ages 2 through 6 with a caregiver.  Join us to hear versions of a favorite fairy tale, sing songs, make a craft, and have a snack. No registration necessary. Walk-ins welcome.
Nutrition for Diabetes + Heart Health: Saturday, October 26, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
This class will teach you how to optimize and stabilize blood sugars to manage diabetes and improve overall heart health. Having optimal blood sugars can improve energy, performance, body composition, hunger and satiety levels, mood while reducing cravings and late-night snacking, improving blood markers and decreasing overall disease risk. Handouts and recipes will be provided. Please register.
First Aid for Kids with EPIC Trainings®: Saturday, October 26, 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
This course teaches 8-14-year-old participants the skills and techniques necessary to respond to a variety of first aid emergencies. Also addressed are common medical emergencies such as: bleeding control, burns, choking, and caring for sprains/strains/breaks and more. This course meets requirements for several Boy/Girl Scout badges. Please register.

Uber and Lyft: How to Make it Work for You: Monday October 28, 7:00 – 8:00 PM.
Join Webster Public Librarian and Uber driver, Sue Del Pozzo as she walks participants through downloading the app, using the app, insider tips for having the best experience possible, and safety precautions to take. This will be hands-on; bring your smartphone, your password to download the app, and your battery charger for your phone. Registration requested.
