Transgender members of our community face many hurdles due to their identities, lacking basic human rights protections. But while they fight for recognition of their rights, many trans*folk understand that the struggle for liberation extends far beyond this. Whether it's Sylvia Rivera fighting for economic justice or Chelsea Manning confronting the military-industrial complex, transgender people understand that their oppression is bound up with race and class.
