GVOC, directed by Dr. Christopher Petit, begins its 44th season with “CONSTRUCT” - a concert highlighting the relationship between music and architecture. Leonardo DaVinci found principles, such as the golden ratio, to be inherent in nature. Composers, and visual artists use them as creative tools. GVOC’s concert honors the architecture of Notre-Dame of Paris, Da Vinci’s artwork, and Bach’s compositional process by featuring the Credo of Bach’s B Minor Mass and premiering Cecilia MacDowell’s DaVinci Requiem, celebrating the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s life by combining text from the Latin Mass for the Dead with English translations of his Notebooks.
