Geneva Music Festival: Influence and Inspiration

Returning GMF artists (Jinjoo Cho, Geoffrey Herd, violin; Eric Wong, viola; Max Geissler, cello; Henry Kramer, piano) celebrate the way musical influence reverberates across the ages. This evening’s works are linked by their shared sources of inspiration, and form a musical network that spans eras and genres. Jörg Widmann’s “Hunting Quartet” acts as a linchpin, quoting Schumann’s programmatic work Papillons, and offering a twenty-first century take on Mozart’s String Quartet No. 17 (“The Hunt”).
