GOSPEL | Kirk Franklin

It's hard to believe that it's been two decades since the dynamic Kirk Franklin broke onto the gospel music scene and started turning heads with the Grammy-winning album "Whatcha Lookin' 4." Since then, the singer-songwriter and choir leader has been a Christian crossover artist with staying power, injecting the fiery passion of a preacher and an irrepressible hope into a soulful fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and gospel choruses. This Friday, Franklin will bring his "20 Years in One Night" tour to Rochester, with a career-spanning set including early hits like "Stomp" and "Revolution" and cuts from his latest studio album, "Losing My Religion."

Kirk Franklin will perform on Friday, June 17, at Main Street Armory, 900 East Main Street. 8:30 p.m. $40-$65. 232-3321; mainstreetarmory.com; facebook.com/KirkFranklin.
