HIP-HOP, CLASSICAL | Black Violin 

Before giving Florida duo Black Violin a spin, just wipe the notion out of your head that the duo is merely a novelty. Violinist Kev Marcus and violist Wil Baptiste play hip-hop, or rather, melodically soaring pieces within a hip-hop context. Bringing the hip to their hop is DJ SPS and drummer Nat Stokes. Those who view hip hop and classical as two disparate strains might see this cocktail of cool as odd, but it's all music, people.
