INDIE POP | Gillian

Gillian rolls into town from Brooklyn on a 3-show "Micro Tour," as the band has dubbed it. Gillian is a 5-piece indie pop crew who, with barely 2 years together as a band, have started making some ripples into the pop scene. Energetic and head-pumping, the band's sound is both catchy and accessible with some unpredictable melodic twists. The single "Freak Flag", released in November 2013 on the debut eponymous 2-track EP, received press from NYC's "Death+Taxes" to London's "The 405 Magazine," spurring blog reviews as far as Germany and Japan. Gillian's second and most recent EP, "The Eyes in My Head," came out this past July. It's a punchy four tracks of humility and pomp and memorable guitar riffs. Gillian will perform with Over Hand Sam, Thoroughbred, and Northern Spies on Sunday, December 7, at the Bug Jar, 219 Monroe Avenue. 9 p.m. $6-$8.;
