Re: “Mayor Warren seeks public's comments on Rochester school district

As falls Rochester, so falls RCSD. As I read every week on these very pages, Rochester, and Rochester student's major problem is income disparity? I wonder then, why doesn't she let the school system run itself, and she can run the city. The city needs leadership. Where is the economic development, the lower crime and the jobs that would immediately lead to quality of life and dignity?

Fix the city, Mayor Warren. THAT is your job.

Re: “Rochester’s arts support: beyond a big-show theater

1% is a vague figure. Exactly how much do they want, and what will they use it for?

I do have a suggestion that would have a better result for them. Using the 1% rule, why not raise your ticket prices 1%. Improve the product 1%. Increase your base 1%. Cut your expenses 1%. Do this every year, and more and I guarantee you will reach your goal.

I do wish them luck. The arts do improve the quality of life we all enjoy in Rochester.

Re: “Our divided America and the news we like

I wish I could see this "division" you accuse Trump of. Whenever he talks, he speaks of AMERICA. That is all of us, unless you don't consider yourself an American. The only dividing I see is from the "resistance" and other groups that hate the guy so much. Stop calling Trump a divider. We had an election, and 2 years later certain people can't accept the results. As you say, so many are so "convinced of their own wisdom" that they won't listen to someone that doesn't reinforce their beliefs. I do believe a mirror is appropriate here.

Re: “Feedback 11/28

Mike, what I don't understand is why we don't have marketing going around to neighboring cities to encourage weekends in Rochester, with shows, shopping, dinning, sightseeing. There's certainly plenty to do here. Why are we keeping this to ourselves?
