This class will expose students to the traditional art of water color painting using the three main kinds of water color paints: stains, transparents, and opaques, as well as the appropriate paper, and brushes needed to achieve fine-quality watercolor results. This class will teach students a basic understanding of how and when to use the three types of tube paints, the appropriate amount of water to use depending on the desired result, and how to apply layers of paint to achieve different kinds of effects. Techniques covered include washes, tinting, wet in wet, dry brush, and lifting.
