JAZZ | The Out Louds

If improvisation turns you on, the Bop Shop is the place to be Sunday night when three of the top free jazz players on the New York scene take the stage. After her years with Anthony Braxton, Mary Halvorson is widely considered to be among the most innovative guitarists playing today. Ben Goldberg (clarinet) and Tomas Fujiwara (drums) have similar reputations for original approaches to their instruments. Moving together in whatever direction the music takes them, every performance is an adventure.

The Out Louds will perform Sunday, June 19, at Bop Shop Records, 1460 Monroe Avenue. 8:30 p.m. $20 general; $10 for students. 271-3354; bopshop.com.
