Re: “Feedback 3/15

Jack, judging by this straw poll at least your preposition that money in politics is not inevitably reflected in how an elected representative votes on an issue is defeated 8 to 2. That four-fold unfavorable opinion has been borne out in multiple studies at all levels of our government. A preponderance of constituents wants our government to be controlled by we the people, not by corporate bribes of elected representatives.

Re: “To make a bold stand, vote Bernie

After Mary Anne Towler’s editorial that endorsed Hillary Clinton (with regrets) for Democrat POTUS candidate, 80% of Rochester CITY Newspaper readers posted comments in favor of Bernie Sanders. This week her readers’ consensus in favor of Bernie Sanders remains at more than 80%...

Re: “Paris may be last, best chance to achieve carbon cuts

Global Climate Action is FOR all of us, and BY all of us; nothing could be more democratic than to show solidarity with our representatives at the 2015 Paris Climate Summit. This is our last chance to make OUR voices heard.

Re: “Fate uncertain for workers

'Undocumented immigrants' is code for slavery. Legislators and employers have always exploited and owned them for their cheap labor and then pretend to be sanctimonious about the practice. So who is kidding whom?

Re: “Moms mobilize against climate change

Great idea to enlarge the demographic pond to include young mothers and children, especially since they will actually confront the full impact of human-caused climate disruption (ACD). But lets not forget that ACD will affect us all and it takes a village to work on such a weighty problem together. As a member of self-described 'grandfathers out front ' for six years we helped stop fracking in Perinton and NY State. And I love mothers, fathers and their children too. Re: “Rochester to undertake citywide climate inventory

The big energy advantage Rochester has over its suburban neighbors is its relaxed policy on snow and leaf removal. Perhaps this is by default, but the nominal savings in capital, labor and health cost cannot be overstated. City residents get a chance to rake their own leaves and shovel their own walks all the while getting healthier for the exercise it provides them. Meanwhile the environment is cleaner, healthier and less noisy.

Re: “Pittsford board votes down Westport Crossing designs

Historic villages have a architectural legacy to honor. Without a watchful eye by friends and residents all of that legacy will be replaced by box stores.
