Re: “Theater review: "Sylvia" onstage at Geva

I'm the marketing director at Geva and the reviewer's comments regarding our responsibility to the community is well noted. We invite everyone to come see THE LAKE EFFECT now playing in The Fielding Stage - click here for more information:…

Re: “A reluctant endorsement for Hillary Clinton

An advocate for minority rights would never support for-profit prisons, the classification of marijuana as a Class 1 drug (as dangerous as heroin), and the three-strikes ruling. Clinton's campaign is financed by pharmaceutical lobbyists, fossil fuel lobbyists, Wall Street Banks, for-profit prisons, and many more. How can anyone believe she will get anything done when she will owe all of the above for their financial support?

Re: “Dialing it down: local media changes

It's interesting to note the conservative bias of Sinclair without noting the bias of Humboldt or Nextstar. The sad fact it today is that all major media companies owners have biases that are reflected in their reporting (or lack of reporting). Good national journalism in the US ended with Watergate.

Re: “ART: Geva cancels summer show "The Lifeguard"

I work for Geva and want to let you know that there is no more to the story than what we provided to the press. Forster never met with the playwright until Geva secured the rights to the show. He did express an interest in doing the show publicly but needed a producer like Geva to take it to the next step, Unfortunately, their schedules did not allow for a meeting until the days after we made our announcement. It was a meeting between the playwright and Mr Forster and then later a follow-up conversation with artistic director Mark Cuddy that lead to the writer rescinding the rights from Geva. There are currently no productions of THE LIFEGUARD currently planned any where . Geva does regret not being able to bring this new work and Mr Forster to our stage this summer.

Re: “THEATER: "44 Plays for 44 Presidents"

Thanks for the input on the audience's demographics at the performance you attended. We're blessed by more season ticket holder than any other organization (sports included) in Rochester and our regular sales this year have been very good. Although i know our audiences are very diverse, the show content impacts the audiences' demographics.

We will be posting a blog about the "elections at Geva" on our blog site in the coming days. Obama did win in every post-show election but some were very close.

Also, just for you Eric, we'll be posting the text of the "Romney Play" since we never got to perform it.

Re: “THEATER: "44 Plays for 44 Presidents"

Eric - so far, Obama has won every post show election! Although we're all anxious to see the skit for Romney, at this point, I'm not sure we will.
