Hosted by Dr. Carl Atkins, Professor of Music at RIT, the Last Friday Jazz Heritage Series will present fine performances of Jazz and provide audiences with the opportunity to engage in a dialogue on its history, sociology and psychology in the United States and throughout the world. Audience members will be invited to ask questions and interact with the performers. This session will include a performance by Dr. Atkins’ group, “Culture Clash,” followed by a question and answer session. Each program in the series will include musical performance or film and lecture/discussion about some aspect of this music called Jazz.
