LECTURE | 'Let's Talk About Intersectional Feminism'

Is your brand of feminism inclusive of all women, or do they have to have a certain skin tone, be of a certain class, or fit a certain standard of respectability? Do you uphold the equal rights and treatment of trans women? Do you know that sex workers can be victims of sexual violence? Women's equality movements are still hampered by racism, ageism, ableism, and many other -isms that are holding us back from being a united front and rising together. Grassroots community school 540WMain Learning Academy this week continues its "Conversations in the Community Room" with "Let's Talk About Intersectional Feminism." Learn from members of your community about the areas of our thinking that need work.

The discussion will be held on Wednesday, January 24, at 7 p.m., at 540WMain (540 West Main Street). $5 suggested donation, RSVP required at eventbee.com. Interpreting services will be provided upon request at registration. 420-8439; 540westmain.org.
