In recent years there's been a massive refocusing of our education system on to STEM: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Teaching the next wave of citizens who will advance our world through practical innovations is important, but so are philosophic questions about values and ethics. This month The MCC Institute for the Humanities tackles this concern by presenting a panel discussion, "Why STEM needs the Arts & Humanities." The panel features Eric Berridge, CEO of IMB company Bluewolf; and Rochester Institute of Technology President David Munson. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Amanda Roth, SUNY Geneseo Assistant Professor of Philosophy.
Wednesday, May 1, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road. Free, registration required. sites.monroecc.edu/humanities.
