LIT | Blind Date with a Book

Although we've all heard the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover," subconsciously, we can't help but do it anyway. That's why this Friday, December 6, Writers & Books is doing us all a favor and taking the cover out of the equation by wrapping its books in nondescript brown paper. On the outside of the package you'll find a few descriptive words. Based on them, you can decide which books to purchase for the whopping price of $1. Book lovers are encouraged to come in, peruse, and take a book home on a "blind date."

The event takes place 7-9 p.m. at Writers & Books (740 University Ave.) as part of its monthly First Friday open mic night. For more information call Writers & Books at 473-2590 or call wab.org.
