Mary Anna Towler is a transplant from the Southern Appalachians and is editor, co-publisher, and co-founder of City. She is happy to have converted a shy but opinionated childhood into an adult job. She credits a grandfather for instilling in her a love of politics. And she makes no apology for her liberal views.

Re: “To our CITY readers: changes, and an invitation

To Harry Pearle and David4: we've written about the Strong expansion plans (which do indeed include additional space at the museum) several times since it was announced nearly two years ago. The full complex will include the museum expansion, the hotel, a residential building, and parking.

Re: “Groups want a shift in city development

To Alex White: The HomeWork feature is an ad produced by the Landmark Society of Western New York, not a story. City Newspaper donates the space for it, but we do not select the subject or write the text.

Ah, Cupid: I did cite one of my favorite, most-often-read journalists, the Wall Street Journal's Jerry Seib. The Journal is delivered to our home - and is read - 6 days a week. In the past, I've cited the Times' David Brooks. I read Ross Douthat and Bret Stephens regularly. And I'm going to hear the Journal's Peggy Noonan (speechwriter for President Reagan) on Friday at the University of Rochester.
