Open meeting. For non-profit agency executive staff, non-profit entrepreneurs, business students and others interested in networking and learning about how participating in the social economy (business with a direct intent to do good works) can help non-profits better secure resources for their work and help entrepreneurs improve the community with social enterprise. The program will be a presentation and discussion about the possibility of starting a BALLE chapter in the Rochester area. BALLE is the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, a network of locally owned independent businesses that serve a social purpose beyond just profits. BALLE members are dedicated to building strong local living economies. Amy Kauffman, Jim DeLuca, and David Horesh will be giving a brief overview of BALLE - its purpose, who should be involved, how this new initiative can strengthen our local organizations and the plans for expansion in the Rochester area.
