Pick up a Reading & Activity Challenge page in the Children’s Room. Learn new things and celebrate Black Heritage Month. Complete and turn in page to earn a prize.

Random Acts of Kindness
Monday, February 11 to Saturday, February 23
February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Come into the Teen Space between February 11–23 to select a Random Act of Kindness card and enter our contest. One winner will be chosen randomly.
Origami Cranes Project
February through May
Help us create origami cranes to be displayed at the Central Branch in August. This is a system-wide project to coordinate with the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Atomic Bomb traveling exhibit. Teens and adults are welcome to participate, and instructions will be provided. Call the branch at 428-8202 for updates on the start of the program.

LROC
Friday, February 1, from 1–3 p.m.
The Library Resource Outreach Center (LROC) helps connect the homeless, or those in danger of becoming homeless, to services and resources such as housing, food, clothing, shelter, income, case management, medical care, legal assistance, and employment. No appointment necessary.
Book Discussion
Wednesday, February 20 at 1:30 p.m.
This month the group will discuss “The Daughter’s Walk” by Jane Kirkpatrick.

Saturday, February 16, from 2–4 p.m.
The Monroe Family YMCA is partnering with the Monroe Branch Library to bring you this program. This event is part of a community program to promote racial justice through book discussion and team building. We will be discussing the bestselling book, “The Hate U Give” by Angie Thomas. Share ideas, enjoy snacks and enter the drawing to win a copy of this book.
NOTE: This program will be held at the Monroe Family YMCA, 797 Monroe Ave.
