No appeal for Marriage Equality Law

The New York State Court of Appeals, the highest court in the state, issued a statement today essentially denying New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms the ability to appeal the Marriage Equality Act. The law permits same-sex couples in New York to marry.

"With the court's decision, same-sex couples no longer have to worry that their right to marry could be legally challenged in this state," said Governor Andrew Cuomo's office in a written statement.
