Harvey Limbeck, a docent and member of the Friends of Ganondagan will discuss the various battles between 1650 and 1800 including the French and Indian War, Pontiac’s War, Revolutionary War, and more. Those chosen have interesting features that include lacrosse, locale, prominent individuals such as George Washington, and dire consequences for one of the combatants.

American Creed Film Showing & Discussion

Sustainable Gardening For Teens

Join Mary Jo Lane from MJ Creative Gardens for a fun, informative program about growing veggies, herbs and edible flowers. We will use recycled materials to create grow pots and learn about composting and making an organic grow mix. We will use these items to plant seeds to take home and nurture in this season’s garden. We will also discuss plants to promote butterflies, bees and other pollinators!! All materials will be provided! Registration opens April 4; limited to 12 participants.

College Planning 101

Applying to college can be an overwhelming and challenging time. Course selection, standardized testing, and extracurricular activities are all just part of the process. When and how does a family begin? Large school or small? Far away or close to home? How do family values, finances, and vision impact this choice? Jodi Rosenshein Atkin, MA, LLC, an independent college admissions counselor, will help develop an initial road map to the process. Learn how to begin the family discussion, maximize the value of college visits, explore the different cultures that schools may reflect, and discover what life may be like for a student on those campuses. Registration begins April 10.

The Genesee & Ontario Model N-Gineers Model Train Show

For children of all ages, 4-94, with an adult Model train engineers will be on hand to display and discuss their N-scale model railroad and scenery made up of T-track modules. Chug on in at any time to see these model trains in action! No registration required.
Nazareth College Story Band

Scrap Art Fun

Produce a work of art using some recycled items as diverse as seashells, beads, fabric, pinecones, machine parts, game pieces, dried flowers, and more. Presenter Mary Jane Wenner will provide the instruction and inspiration and all the materials. Bedtime Storytime Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Thursday, April 18, 6:45-7:30 PM
For children ages 3-8, with an adult
Children bring a favorite stuffed animal to hear stories and songs about toys and then tuck them in for a sleepover at the library. The next day, Friday, April 19 between 2:00 and 5:30 PM, children come back to pick up their animals and a souvenir of their animal’s experience. (Make sure to bring an animal your child can part with for the night.) Registration begins Thursday, April 4 for Penfield town or school district residents; Thursday, April 11 for all others.

Sleeping Beauty Story Time

Princess Aurora stands alongside the Lilac Fairy as these company members of the Rochester City Ballet will appear in full costume to read the magical tale of Sleeping Beauty, lead us in some ballet positions, and will be available for questions and photos after the reading! Stage performances will take place May 17-19 at the Callahan Theater, Nazareth College.
