Lake Affect is celebrating its 20th anniversary with two contests, POETRY & COVER ART. Cash prizes and publication in the 20th anniversary issue! First place Poetry winner will receive $200, second place winner, $100, & third place winner, $75. The Cover Art Contest winner will receive $250. For Cover Art: All media and All subjects are welcome! Each poem must be no more than 30 lines and must include the word “lake.” All works of art must depict a lake within 100 miles of Rochester, N.Y. Each poetry entry must be typed on one side of a single sheet. Art entries may be submitted as photographs through the mail or by e-mail. The poet’s name, mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number must appear on a separate cover sheet. The poem’s title must appear on the poem and on the cover sheet. The author’s name must not appear on the sheet containing the poem. (blind judging) Artwork must be clearly labeled with the artist’s name. There are no limitations to subject matter. There are no limits to the number of entries per person, but each entry must be accompanied by a $10 entry fee. Make checks payable to Lake Affect Magazine.
